Hoffman Kiln

17 miles away from Skipton, between Langcliffe and Stainforth.

This huge kiln is one of the largest and best preserved in England. It lies close to the Settle-Carlisle rail line, and was used in the production of slake lime. It is visited regularly by the Open University Geological Society. See the OUGS pages
