This is the entrance point to the Waterfall
Walk. Here you pay at the cubicle on your right, before parking
through these gates. |
| 2 |
At the start of the walk, a notice board to
the left of the starting point has general information about the
walk. There is also a Warning Board to the left of this,
(click on pic.) explaining
the potential dangers, which the wise take note of!
| 3 |
Through a gate, the river is on the right, and a second gate,
follow the path and steps throughout.
Pass the money tree on the left...

| 4 |
During wet weather the paths can become quite
treacherous, and slippy. Be very careful. Approach the bridge,...
| 5 |
...cross the river now on the left of you; and
shortly, a vantage point looms up on the left.
| 6 |
Approaching the Bridge at Pecca falls, and various vantage points
up the steps.
| 7 |
Eventually through a barred gate into a field, where you will
find a perfectly placed shop offering reasonably priced refreshments.
(the ice cream here is highly recommended)
Once you are replete and refreshed, you head off...
| 8 |
Past a sign saying "Waterfalls walk Thornton
Force (third of a mile) Beezley Falls". |
9 |
After five minutes, you should have the main falls in front of
you and to the right.
Having taken your photographs from all angles, you can make your
way up a very steep path, and steps to the top of the falls.
| 10 |
Next, for your comfort and safety, a small metal bridge about 5
yards long and leading down to the main bridge to your right over
the river. Head uphill directly ahead of you. You have now traversed
the worst of the hill climbing. Thankfully, there is seating at
the top of the hill !!!
| 11 |
Through a gate marking the route to Beezley
Falls, turning right along the path.
| 12 |
Next through a gate, coupled with a swing gate...

| 13 |
...on through a large gate into a farmyard marked
by the waterfalls sign.
14 |
Over a stepped stile topped by a small gate.
Directly in front of you in the distance, are the White Scar Cave
car park and...

15 |
...a little to the left is Ingleborough, towering
724 meters high.
Now, at the bottom of the hill, exit the field through
a metal swing gate adjacent to a large metal gate, and head straight
across the road, following the well signposted route.

16 |
Turn right into the farmyard and straight on
through. You must bypass the sheep pen on your left via two low
black gates.
17 |
Two further gates give you access to the second
riverside spectacular. |

18 |
Danger sign
Baxenghyll Gorge. A viewing point over the river on the left is
a good photo opportunity.

19 |
Continue along well established paths
to a small iron gate, with the river on your left, at the bridge,
cross over, and head up along the path.
20 |
You will eventually end up on this track and
wend your way towards a metal gate.
21 |
A quarry sign on your left, and pass an old
disused industrial site on your left. |
22 |
Through a grassy shady glade, and out through
another metal gate to the edge of the village.
23 |
Return to the village passing this sign.
I can recommend the Icelandic Cod at the Fish and Chip Shop!
