Trains and Planes...

The nearest Train Stations are Skipton, Gargrave and Settle, but weekday bus links from these stations to Malham are very limited/non-existent. Better bus links are available from Skipton and Gargrave on Saturdays, and from Settle on Summer Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays.

The Bike Bus Service is no longer running.

Timetable booklets are also available free from all National Park Centres.

Flights into Malham are few and far between, and are virtually none existent.  Apart from the odd private helicopter flight, and occasional RAF sortie to frighten and count the sheep and cattle in the area.
However flights out are possible, and can be arranged at very short notice, particularly if you have spent five or more days lost down a pothole, or broken your neck, back, or a limb or two.  Contact the local constabulary, or via the mountain rescue, or coast guard.

Contact them for information on events or details of guided walks.  Many of the events involve outdoor activities. Please ensure you take appropriate footwear and wet weather gear!  You may be turned away if you are not properly dressed.

For your own safety and their insurance purposes, you may be asked to complete a name and address card when you register for one of the outdoor events. Please hand the completed card to the Voluntary Warden on duty before you start. The information contained on the cards will be treated as private and strictly confidential.
