Shopping in SkiptonSkipton is a Dales market town, and as such serves both tourists and local alike as a shopping centre. There is of course Skipton Market, on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. Famous for it outdoor shopping, Skipton Market brings visitors from far and wide. And of course there's Craven Court, the Victorian style shopping arcade, praised by Prince Charles for it's architecture. Shopping AreasOf course the High Street is the main shopping area, and is host to Skipton Market 4 days a week. There are also many shops on Sheep St, Newmarket St, Coach St and Swadford St. Often the most interesting and rewarding shopping is found in the narrow side streets and alleyways that run off the main streets. Our Interactive map is colour-coded to highlight (yellow) the shopping areas in Skiption. Or better still, check out CragFace's Guided walk around the shopping areas of the town - highly recommended.
