Canal Cruises

From right in the middle of town you can take a short pleasure cruise along the Leeds Liverpool canal, embarking from the wharf at Coach Street.

Pennine Boat Trips operate public cruises to Niffany and to Snaygill along the Leeds & Liverpool Canal. Fully weather protected; comfortable seating, toilet on board, central heating, well stocked bar, tea, coffee, minerals etc.

There are also short cruises around the back of the Castle, along the Springs Branch canal.

Daily trips

run Easter to October, with 1 hour 15 minutes return trips (max. 60 passengers) on most days. April, May & October: 1.30 pm & 3.00pm. June & September: 11.30 am, 1.30 pm & 3.00 pm. July & August: 11.30 am, 1.30 pm, 3.00 pm & 4.30 pm. All Bank Holidays: 11.30 am, 1.30 pm, 3.00 pm, 4.30 pm. FARES: Adults £3.50, Children £1.50.

Evening trips

to Farnhill Woods lasting 2½ hours are run on Sundays & Wednesdays in July & August at 7.00 pm. FARES: Adults £7.00, Children £3.00. Booking advisable.

Private Party Cruises

Pennine Boat Trips also arange private functions, business entertainment and promotions, family celebrations, club outings, senior citizens' groups, men and women's organisations, weddings, coach excursions etc.
