Award-winning chef Paul Rankin has been helping to train chefs from a number of Barchester Healthcare's homes.
While the spotlight in recent months has been on the quality of children's school dinners, Mr Rankin has begun helping out Barchester's staff to ensure that they are providing care home residents with top quality, nutritious food.
Barchester Healthcare has been working in conjunction with Westminster Kingsway College's School of Culinary Arts to develop a training programme that will seek to improve the skills of Barchester's most experienced chefs.
Among the events organised for the care home staff was a masterclass taken by Mr Rankin himself and it is hoped that this style of training will deliver further improvements in the quality of food served in Barchester's homes.
