Children's bedtime just got easier

Parents of young children hoping for a smooth and peaceful bedtime will welcome the new Sounds Dreamy bedtime CDs launched this month.

Designed to guide a child to a deeply restful state where sleep comes easily,the new CDs are unique in their approach to actively encouraging sleep.

By using a lively start, the stories first engage the child's attention before gradually getting slower and slower - progressively leading the listener towards a sleepy state.

The CDs only contain original material. The stories include new sleep-time songs and poetry and have been written and performed by Annie Heyes from Bolton Abbey and Josie Wood from Addingham.

'Sleep is so important to a child's physical, mental and emotional well being,' says Josie, 'we wanted to create gentle, stress-free stories so that sleep can come naturally and calmly.'

Trials proved very successful so Josie and Annie, who have been best friends for over twenty years, decided to form a company: Sounds Dreamy. Under the banner, 'where happy sleep begins', they have produced two CDs so far aimed at the 1 - 4 and 3 - 6 age ranges. A third title for the over 6's is due for release in the spring.

'Although we haven't actively marketed them yet, sales are already in double figures and the feedback has been brilliant,' says Annie, 'we all know that if children sleep well then parents and carers can relax too - so everyone can benefit.'
