We've had endless feedback and arguments about what is, or should be, allowable on this message board, and what we should and shouldn't censor. We're trying to run a board that is interesting but not offensive. That's harder than it sounds.

In the end, we nicked these House Rules from the BBC website, which we think are good guidelines:

About your posts

Please keep your contributions civil, tasteful and relevant. We are committed to providing an atmosphere in which friendly and mature dialogue takes place. This message board is designed to be open to all, and we'd like you to bear in mind that all kinds of users, of all ages, are reading these pages.

Therefore:

  • No flaming. Don't be rude.
  • Unlawful, harassing, defamatory, abusive, threatening, harmful, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, racially offensive, or otherwise objectionable material is not acceptable.
  • Never reveal any personal information about yourself or others (for example: your telephone number, home address or email address), and please do not include postal addresses of any kind.
  • Don't spam.
  • No advertising.
  • Posts containing languages other than English may be removed.
  • Impersonating someone else is unacceptable, as is adopting an inappropriate screen name (one that is vulgar, offensive, etc.)
  • Be nice to each other. Play nice.

So.

If you post something on here that (we consider) breaks the above guidelines, we will remove it. Got a problem with this? Then either e-mail us with constructive criticism, or simply go somewhere else and find a message board that has a policy you do agree with.

If you have a grievance regarding a comment / message that you posted not being approved, please read our notes on being disallowed page before complaining.

Have something you want to add here? Got feedback? e-mail us.
