The newer Tudor section of Skipton Castle
From this angle, you can see the completely different styles of Norman and Tudor. The new Tudor section of the Castle (on the right) was built in 1536 by Henry, the first Earl of Cumberland, on the occasion of the marriage of his son to a niece of Henry VIII, Lady Eleanor Brandon. Photo taken with kind permission of Skipton Castle.
