Web Strategy 2004

Tue 13th April 2004

Web Strategy: SkiptonWeb photos appear in Craven Council's Community Strategy Document

This week sees the publication of the Craven Community Strategy. This is interesting because about 5 months back Andy Binns, Community Strategy Officer of the Council, contacted us to ask if they might use some of our photos from the SkiptonWeb gallery, when printing the booklet. We said we'd be delighted. We agreed they could choose and use any pictures they liked.

It took a while, but the final product came through our letter box this morning, and we have to say we think it looks great. They've used 20 photos from the SkiptonWeb photo gallery, including photos from the Skipton Renaissance Weekend, Carleton Duck Race, Broughton Game Show and the Kettlewell Scarecrow Festival.

The 24-page booklet is delivered to all households in the Craven Council District. Craven covers 15% of North Yorkshire, an area of 117,000 hectares, and has a population of 53,600.

Asked for his thoughts on all this, Steve said "Well, at a cost to us of zero, thats this year's advertising budget gone then. No seriously, I think the Craven Community Strategy looks great, and it makes me proud to feel that in some small way we were able to help out and to get involved. I'd like to point out too, that many of the photos used were taken by CragFace. I cannot stress too strongly the amount of work that CragFace has put into taking excellent photographs for the SkiptonWeb gallery."

There's a photo credit for both SkiptonWeb and CragFace's Craven Image website printed on the back cover. The strategy booklet was printed by Dixon Target of Cross Hills.
