809 Settle to Malham
Shuttle Bus Service 2007

Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holiday Mondays from 7th April to 30th September 2007, and also 20th, 21st, 27th & 28th October 2007

Whether you are out for a walk or just to enjoy the scenery of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, why not leave your car in the security of one of the car parks in Settle - and use the Settle to Malham Shuttle Bus service? You can also use the bus to travel to Settle or Malham from Ilkley or Skipton.

The National Trust has again secured funding to run a shuttle bus service between Settle and Malham during 2007. The service runs every hour from 10.30am to 12.30pm and from 1.30pm to 4.30pm from the Market Square in Settle, every Saturday and Sunday from 7th April to 30th September 2007, and on the four Bank Holiday Mondays of 9th April, 7th May, 28th May and 27th August. The service will also operate during half-term on 20th, 21st, 27th and 28th October.

The 809 service starts in Ilkley and runs via Skipton to Settle. It then shuttles from Settle via Langcliffe to Malham Tarn, and then along Malham Raikes Road to the Yorkshire Dales National Park Information Centre in Malham.

The Shuttle will stop on demand on its route to and from Malham, which means you can get a lift up and walk back (or visa versa), walk around the Tarn or Malham Moor, or just enjoy the scenic bus ride.

A bike rack is fitted to the bus for those wishing to test their stamina on the Pennine Bridlepath loop!

Take a map! A good footpath map is essential for walking in the Settle/Malham area.

The National Trust and the Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority have produced leaflets giving details of walks which can be enjoyed from Malham and Malham Tarn. The National Trust’s ‘Waymarked Walks’ leaflet has been designed to suit most abilities, covering four walks ranging from easy to demanding. You can pick up a leaflet from the National Park Centre or the National Trust’s Town Head Barn in Malham, and the Tourist Information Centre in Settle.

The National Trust, founded in 1895, is Britain's largest independent conservation organisation. As a registered charity, not a government body, we rely almost entirely on voluntary contributions to care for the best of our history, tradition and glorious countryside for you and future generations to enjoy.
