808 Malham Shuttle Bus Service 2005

Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holiday Mondays
26 March - 11 September 2005

Whether you are out for a walk or just to enjoy the scenery of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, why not leave your car in the security of the car park at Malham village? Better still, leave it at home and use the Malham Shuttle Bus service.

The National Trust has again secured funding to run the Malham Shuttle Bus Service in 2005. The service will run every Saturday and Sunday from 26th March to 11th September 2005, and on the four Bank Holiday Mondays of March 30th, May 2nd, May 30th and August 29th. The bus will leave every half-hour from 10am to 1pm and from 2pm to 5pm from the Yorkshire Dales National Park car park in Malham village.

The Shuttle will stop on demand on its route from Malham village to the Tarn and return via the Scar/Cove to the car park in Malham. So you can get a lift up and walk back (or visa versa!), have a walk around the Tarn, or simply enjoy the scenic bus ride.

The 804 service, operated by Jacksons of Silsden, accepts Dales Rover Tickets and will start from Keighley Railway Station at 0855 calling at Steeton Primary School, Skipton Bus Station, Skipton Rail Station, Gargrave the Square, Newfield, Airton, and Kirkby Malham on its way to Malham village. It will return via the same route at 5pm arriving Keighley Rail Station at approximately 6.05pm. Alternatively, there are other bus services which link West Yorkshire, North Yorkshire and Lancashire to Malham village where you can pick up the Shuttle Bus service.

For those who do not have a Dales Rover Ticket there will be a small fare charge of 70p for Adults, 50p for Senior Citizens and 30p for Children.

For those who wish to extend their journey and travel on to visit Settle, a new service has been introduced for 2005 linking Malham with Settle.

The National Trust and the Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority have produced leaflets giving details of walks which can be enjoyed from Malham and Malham Tarn. The National Trust's ‘Waymarked Walks’ leaflet has been designed to suit most abilities, covering four walks ranging from easy to demanding. So why not call in at the National Park Centre in Malham, or The National Trust's Town Head Barn, and pick up a leaflet.

The National Trust, founded in 1895, is Britain's largest independent conservation organisation. As a registered charity, not a government body, we rely almost entirely on voluntary contributions to care for the best of our history, tradition and glorious countryside for you and future generations to enjoy.
