Medieval Market : 5 & 12 Dec 2004
Time once again to jump into pantaloons and sing "Hay
nonny-no". The Christmas attraction for all the family
pulls another annual cracker.

Skipton Gala :
12 June 2004
Beginning at 2:00pm with a fine procession led by the City of
Leeds Pipe Band. It was good weather, a fine dry day, warm and
quite sunny. Funfair in Aireville Park. Displays. |

Artistic Display in
Austwick : April 2004
Austwick provided a lovely setting for this well attended art
exhibition, which had been organised by the Artolicana Gallery,
Ilkley, to promote the work of local artists. |

Grassington Dickensian
Fayre : 13 Dec 2003
It was the best of times, it was the worst of times - it was
the time of paying £5 for car parking. Grassington's seasonal
event was well organised, with lots of stalls and sites to see... |

Christmas Medieval
Market Skipton : 8 Dec 2002
Seasonal market fun in Skipton, on the run-up to Christmas.
Medieval themed market, with re-enactments, dancers, brass band
and Santa. You just don't see enough men in tights these days.

WYTS Transport Display
: Bolton Abbey Station : 12 Oct 2002
Held in the grounds of Bolton Abbey Railway Station, where there
were fine examples of single and double decker buses, land rover's
and the odd Rolls Royce. |

the Grave : Gargrave : 8 Oct 2002
To celebrate the anniversary of St. Andrews church, Mrs. Bernadette
Atkinson, held a wonderful display of her collection of Victorian
clothing. |

Corio Raptor Care
Visit : 27 Aug 2002
Nick Henderson enthralled both children and adults alike at
Skipton Library. Corio is a small, highly specialised centre
that is involved in the care and rehabilitation of birds of
prey, or raptors.... |

Annual show in spectacular location, the very heart of Malhamdale,
every August Bank Holiday Saturday. A traditional agricultural
country show with over 50 years of history... |

Gaping
Gill Winch Meet : 17-26 Aug 2002
Twice a year the local caving groups organise a winch meet at
Gaping Gill, 2½ miles from Clapham, where members of
the public can just turn up, pay £8, and go down and mooch
around in the biggest cave in England... |

Down at the Greatwood Community Centre on 22 August 2002, along
came ex-policeman, Mr. Paul Nutter, with just a few of his snake

Quaker
Exhibition, Skipton : 19 Aug 2002
Friends in Truth, nicknamed Quakers, met at Skipton from the
beginnings in about 1652 of what we now call the Religious Society
of Friends. William Dewsbury, James Nayler and others preached
in the town and nearby in Bradley and Rylstone... |

Archers at Skipton Castle : 17 Aug 2002
Feudal Archers - a journey back to the 12 Century. Recreation
of a medieval campsite within the castle grounds. Archers, knights,
cooks and craftsmen all demonstrated their skills... |

Scarecrow Festival : 8-18 Aug 2002
Scarecrows take over the village of Kettlewell for a ten day
festival organised and run by the 'Friends' of Kettlewell
School. Over 110 scarecrows displayed around the village,
in gardens, on roofs, in the churchyard etc...

Regular annual event, raises money for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance.

A regular annual event, the Broughton Firework & Music Fantasia
mixes great classical music outdoors with a spectacular fireworks
and light effects display. Picnic in the park. Street entertainers,

Skipton Castle played host to an exhibition by three artists
in contrasting media. The Granary building of Skipton Castle
is a perfect backdrop for this kind of arty stuff. We wandered

March - the Dukes : 20 Jul 2002
A celebration marking the 300th anniversary of the Duke of Wellington's
Regiment. Around 200 Dukes troops marched through the centre
of Skipton, supported by the Corps of Drums and the King's Division
Normandy Band... |

Skipton
Sheep Day : 7 Jul 2002
Actor Clive Hornby from Emmerdale Farm opened Skipton Sheep
Day along with Skipton Mayor Andrew Rankine. Good crowd turned
up, sheepdog geese-herding display (still no sheep) and many
stalls, including the Corio Raptor Centre, who had several large
birds of prey on show. |
