Craven Court
Craven
Court, Skipton's Victorian style shopping arcade holds a myriad
of shops, containing all sorts of hidden treasures from high class
jewellery, Chinese furniture and porcelain, to lavender balms and
hand made soap!
As
the pictures show, Victorian is most definitely the style, with
lanterns and ironwork that take you to a completely different era.
There
are two entrances to Craven Court, one from the High Street, and
one from Otley Street. Both entrances have a signboard, listing
all the shops in Craven Court , complete with a 'map' so that you
can easily find each one.
The
Otley street entrance has a beautiful iron spiral staircase, kept
in immaculate condition.
To get upstairs in Craven Court, there are two sets of stairs in
the main covered hall area. In the corner of the same main area,
there is also a lift, so wheelchair access isn't a problem either.
There are a variety of shops upstairs in Craven Court, including
Hemingways Tea Shop, a favourite stopping off place for
visitors to sample their tea & scones, and coffee by Taylors of
Harrogate.
Simply follow the links on the right-hand side of this page to
view more details for each shop.
