SkiptonWeb Wants You!

We want you to contribute. This site is big, and there is a lot of information on it, but there should be a lot more. We honestly haven't covered even a tenth of the ground we'd like to. When we originally built this website we we're relying heavily on you, the users, to help us with ideas, suggestions, articles, and more input. So far exactly one person has ever submitted any content. In four years. That's partly because people simply couldn't see the possibilities.

There should be a complete page of useful information on this website for every pub, church, school, charity and club in Skipton. There isn't, because we physically can't do it all ourselves. You have to help.

We'd love to have pages and pages on here about sports, arts, social events, music, amateur dramatics - everything that's going on in Skipton.

We'd like pages on history, geography, local characters, family days out in the area - absolutely anything to do with the town and the people who live here.

SkiptonWeb is free. It's open to all. We run the server and pay for the bandwidth ourselves. We have unlimited space for pages. If you gave us 'War and Peace' it would fit on here, a thousand times over. Space is not a problem. Content is. All you have to do is contribute the content to put on here - we'll take care of the rest.

Step forward 'Crag Face' and take a bow. The mystery walker has contributed (so far) 32 complete detailed walks, along with photos, in and around Skipton. He's gone on to add countless excellent photos to the gallery, and to contribute pages on nearby attractions, too. Crag Face is a hero, and is leading the way in showing what can be done on this site.

We want your content. It doesn't have to be long or complicated. It doesn't have to include photos. You don't have to be a great writer. You don't have to be a web designer. You don't need to have a computer. You don't need anything except some words that you want to share.

Help us. Help us to help you. Be a Crag Face. Contribute words and/or pictures - on paper, on disk, by email, any way you like - and we'll make this site a community resource the likes of which you've never seen.
